Designers can easily apply custom frost effects to glazing thanks to HDFrost, a new high-definition printing technology developed by HDClear. The process, which can replicate just about any image, pattern or gradient, involves printing a combination of white and light grey ink onto optically clear polyester film (PET), eliminating the need for complicated cutting and weeding or traditional plain frosted films.
HDFrost works with true optically clear polyester film (PET). We use a unique combination of white and grey inks to replicate the apperance of traditional frosted films. The technique allows any graphics to be viewed from both sides of the glazing yet still letting natural light flood through. The optically clear polyester film outlasts all traditional vinyl graphic applications to flat glass areas.
The HDFrost PET substrate is a true polyester based blast mitigation film with almost 100% optical clarity in the un-printed areas. When fitted to glazing the film becomes undetectable... To put it simply the film is as clear as the glazing we apply it to. This huge added benefit makes the frost images appear as part of the glazing without the inherent problems and cost or decorative laminated glass or direct to glass printing. HDFrost film is hard coated with a scratch resistant coating that makes it highly durable and cleanable. Easily applied and removed, the film is manufactured in a clean room like environment, fully tested and guaranteed.
The film itself delivers impressive performance to create better working environments with 99% UV reduction and 16% total solar reduction. HDFrost keeps your building cooler and more comfortable while protecting your decor. The PET is an environmentally friendly polymer, safe and non-toxic and easily recycled.
